Book Credit

Receiving Book Credit
Customers selling books may choose to receive cash, Book Credit or a combination of both. Book Credit is calculated as 1 1/2 times the cash offer.  An offer of $.80 cash for books is valued at $1.20 in Book Credit.  You may use the credit immediately or receive a card which shows your total Book Credit  available.  You (the Seller) accept total responsibility for retaining the Book Credit card for future book purchases. No records are retained by Books On Center for outstanding Book Credit.

If you have a Book Credit card from a previous transaction, please present it when selling more books for credit so it can be combined on one card.

Using Book Credit

When purchasing books, present your Book Credit card.  Sales tax is added to the total amount of the purchase, then Book Credit is applied.  If the Book Credit is greater than the  amount of the purchase, a new Book Credit card will be issued with your remaining balance.

Example:

The Book Store offers a customer $6.40 cash for 8 books. The customer elects to take Book Credit and receives a card with the value of $9.60.  The customer then purchases books totaling $4.00.

$ 4.00    Total price of the books
$   .29    Sales tax
$ 4.29    Total invoice

Book Credit pays $ 4.29 for the books.  The Book Credit card with the value of $9.60 is redeemed and a new Book Credit card is issued with the remaining balance of $5.31.
